This week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott did what many elected leaders won't: he named the threat and took action. He officially designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations under Texas law. He also banned them from acquiring land in Texas and directed the Department of Public Safety to investigate potential threats, intimidation, and efforts to impost Sharia law in violation of Texas statutes.
Texas was founded on Christian virtues, and our state, and nation, has thrived when those virtues are honored. Justice. Responsibility. Respect. The common good. When any organization or group seeks to operate int he shadows, bending freedoms to impose its will, it is not just a political problem, it is a moral problem. Governor Abbott's action is a direct assertion that Texas law, rooted in our Christian moral framework, will be enforced.
TFP believes that protecting Texas means protecting the moral fabric that sustains families and communities. This is not about fear or paranoia, it is about clear-eyed vigilance. Governor Abbott’s move is a stand for the virtues that built Texas: courage, stewardship, and defense of the innocent.
Civil liberties do not extend to those who would use freedom as a shield to undermine our laws, our communities, and the Christian principles that sustain them. Holding people and organizations accountable is not just a legal imperative, it is a moral one.
Governor Abbott’s action is a bold defense of Texas’ Christian heritage, our laws, and our families. Some groups already have a presence in Texas, but this step is a message: Texas will not cede its communities or values quietly. Protecting our state requires courage, vigilance, and a clear commitment to principle.
