The March 3, 2026, Primary Election in Texas isn’t just another political date on the calendar; it’s a critical moment for Texas families to voice their priorities and demand our elected officials pass laws to protect children and resist social and cultural currents weakening our communities. Early voting runs February 17 – 27, and election day is Tuesday, March 3. You can view our voting recommendations here.
Texas Family Project exists to uplift strong families, defend the innocence of children, and ensure parental rights are respected at every level of government. Our mission is grounded in the truth that thriving families are the backbone of a prosperous, free, and moral Texas.
This primary election gives Texans a chance to steer the direction of state leadership, set the agenda for the next legislative session on crucial issues, and to finish important work from the last session.
Stopping Casino Gambling Expansion in Texas
Casino gambling is not a fringe issue. Powerful corporate interests and deep-pocketed gaming corporations have been lobbying in Austin to loosen Texas’ anti-gambling laws, pushing full-blown casino gaming that would fundamentally change our communities.
Some Texans argue that gambling brings tax revenue and jobs. Even some elected officials have voiced support for sports and online betting. However, these talking points overlook the social cost of gambling addiction, family financial ruin, and the burden it places on local law enforcement and social services with increased crime and poverty rates. Expanded gambling correlates with higher rates of problem gambling and secondary harms, especially in vulnerable households.
Any expansion of casino gambling or normalized government-enabled betting chips away at family financial stability and introduces harm into neighborhoods across Texas. We warn voters to oppose candidates and measures that would expand gambling.
Defending American Law
Across the state, there is concern, reflected in partisan ballot propositions, around protecting the primacy of U.S. and Texas law over any other legal system. One proposition Texas Republicans will weigh on March 3 asks if Texas “should prohibit Sharia Law.”
This is about ensuring no alternative legal code, foreign or domestic, overrides the rule of law that ensures liberty, equality, and justice for all. Sharia Law is the antithesis to that. Sharia Law and Texas law are simply not compatible.
Completing the Work of the Last Legislative Session
The 2025 session was historic in many respects. Lawmakers enacted reforms to strengthen parental rights in public education, limit controversial classroom content, and protect children from harmful influences. These victories, and others, weren’t achieved by accident. They came because voters made family values a priority.
While last election cycle placed many pro-family fighters in Austin, a lot of work was left undone. Several historic pro-family legislation stalled in committees and never made it to a vote on the floor. With the help of the grassroots and stronger officials, we can get these bills pushed across the finish line!
As we approach March 3, Texas Family Project encourages every Texan who cares about family, faith, and freedom to participate decisively in this primary. Our future will be shaped by those who vote, and the policies they elect. It’s time to show up, make your voice heard, and ensure that our children inherit a Texas that values life, law, and liberty above all else. To view our recommendations, click here.
