The recent controversy surrounding the proposed Islamic Games in North Texas, first amplified by Current Revolt, is not, at its core, about one school district or one venue. It is about a much larger and far more concerning trend: the steady advance of Islamist-aligned organizations in Texas communities, institutions, and public spaces. Texas families are right to be alarmed. These games, originally set to take place at a public school in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, have happened annually since 2024. This year, they were sponsored by CAIR, an organization Governor Greg Abbott has deemed a terrorist organization for their ties to radical Islam.

This Was Never Just a Sporting Event

Texans are waking up to the reality that many of these events are backed, promoted, or influenced by organizations tied to terrorism.

When groups associated, directly or indirectly, with entities such as CAIR appear in connection with events hosted on taxpayer-funded property, it raises serious red flags. Texas Family Project Executive Director Kaden Lopez spoke to Texas Scorecard regarding this matter, “Sharia law and Texas law are not compatible. For the safety and well-being of Texas families, we must stand against Islam and stand against foreign terrorist organizations targeting our children.” These are not neutral actors. They are part of a broader network that has spent decades working to normalize Islamist ideology within Western institutions, including schools, universities, and local governments.

A Coordinated Push Into Texas

Texas has become a prime target precisely because it remains one of the last strongholds of faith, family, sovereignty, and constitutional order. As other states fall to ideological capture, Texas stands in the way, which makes it a focus of sustained pressure.

This is not about peaceful worship. Texans have always defended the right of individuals to practice their faith freely. What Texans reject is the use of religion as a political weapon to reshape law, culture, and public institutions.

The Islamic Games controversy should serve as a wake-up call. What Texans witnessed was not an isolated incident but one more attempt to further push Islam into Texas.

Texas Family Project will continue to expose these efforts, educate families, and demand accountability from institutions that open the door to them. Texas must remain a place where:

  • The rule of law is respected

  • Parents are heard, not sidelined

  • Schools focus on education, not ideology

  • And foreign political movements find no foothold

This is not about fear. It is about vigilance.

Texas is worth defending, and Texans are done pretending otherwise.

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
