Texas Sued Over 10 Commandments Bill

Just days after Governor Greg Abbott signed Texas Senate Bill 10 into law, the left time launched a legal attack. One of Texas Family Project’s top legislative priorities this session, SB 10 authored by Senator Phil King (R-Weatherford), requires the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every classroom across the state. The law represents a powerful step forward in restoring moral clarity and foundational American values in our schools. But predictably, the enemies of those values are fighting tooth and nail to tear it down.

The lawsuit was filed by Dominique Alexander, a radical left-wing activist and socialist attorney who proudly supports the Black Lives Matter movement. Alexander has made headlines before, not for championing law and order, but for defending criminals. He is currently representing Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old accused of brutally stabbing Austin Metcalf to death at a Frisco track meet.

Alexander didn’t file this suit alone. He joined forces with the lead pastor of the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas. This infamous church not only identifies as LGBTQ-friendly, but has made headlines for hosting events with the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” a drag queen group with multiple members prosecuted for crimes against children. These are the people claiming the Ten Commandments are “too offensive” or “too extreme” for our children to read in a public classroom.

Let that sink in.

These activists believe it’s perfectly acceptable to expose children to radical gender ideology, drag performances, and sexually explicit material, but displaying “Thou shall not kill” and “Honor thy father and mother” is somehow extreme.

Senator King responded firmly to the news of the lawsuit, telling Texas Family Project: “This is what the left does. We knew this was coming, and we feel strongly the law is on Texas' side.”

He’s absolutely right. This is the same tired tactic the left uses every time conservatives make any progress. They can’t win at the ballot box, so they run to liberal judges and activist courts. But the Constitution doesn’t prohibit morality. It doesn’t outlaw the truth. And it certainly doesn’t ban the Ten Commandments.

This isn’t just about one bill. It’s about who decides what kind of values our kids grow up with - Texas parents or radical activists. We’re not backing down, and neither should you!

Texas Family Project will continue to defend faith, family, and freedom. Stay tuned for updates!

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
