Texas Family Project Policy Director Austin Griesinger issued the following statement:
“As Texas Family Project has highlighted throughout the legislative session, bringing casinos to Texas would benefit lobbyists and Democrats at the expense of Texas families. With legislation on its way to the Calendars Committee, chaired by Rep. Dustin Burrows from Lubbock, we believe the voters of Lubbock should be informed of the harm this policy will have on Texas families.”
The TV ad, launched by Texas Family Project, features former conservative State Representative Bill Zedler. Zedler highlights the demonstrably negative effects that casinos have on the states and communities they are introduced to. The spot also illuminates the empty promises made by the casino lobby.
The television ad will begin running on local stations in Lubbock this week.
