TEXAS FAMILY PROJECT APPLAUDS COMPTROLLER GLENN HEGAR FOR INVESTIGATING AN “ALL AGES” DRAG SHOW
Weatherford, TX. March 8, 2023 - Texas Family Project President Chris Hopper applauds Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s office for opening an investigation into Ebb & Flow. The investigation seeks to determine whether or not the establishment is a sexually oriented business.
The Plano based bar hosted a sexually explicit drag show in October with multiple children in the audience.
Defend our Kids Texas, exposed the show and coverage of the event showing children being exposed to inappropriate sexualized content.
Under Chapter 102 of the Texas Business Code, “sexually oriented businesses” are required to remit a $5 per patron tax to the comptroller. If found guilty, the bar will be held accountable for exposing kids to sexual perversion.
Chris Hopper, President of Texas Family Project, commended Hegar’s action saying, “We are thrilled to see the Comptroller investigate this horrendous drag show for kids. I pray he will take swift action to fine this and every other business that facilitates the sexualization of our children.”
This is not the first time the comptroller has investigated a sexually explicit drag show, and we will work to ensure it will not be his last. Texas Family Project is looking forward to seeing this investigation through and working with the Texas Legislature to defend our kids from future obscene shows.
