Texas voters delivered major victories for a slate of conservative, pro-family candidates in the May 26 Republican primary runoff elections. Texas families remain committed to protecting faith, freedom, parental rights, and constitutional values! Across the state, grassroots conservatives backed candidates who have consistently fought for pro-family causes like school choice, religious liberty, and the protection of children from radical ideology.

Among the biggest victories of the night was Ken Paxton, who defeated longtime incumbent John Cornyn in the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate. Paxton’s victory marked a major shift toward a more bold conservative movement in Texas politics. Throughout his time as Texas Attorney General, Paxton has become nationally known for defending Texas against federal overreach, fighting illegal immigration, challenging overreaching federal mandates, protecting election integrity, and standing against gender-transition procedures for minors.

Texas families have watched Paxton repeatedly take legal action to defend parental rights and religious liberty while pushing back against progressive policies coming from Washington. His runoff victory sends a strong message that conservative voters want leaders willing to fight unapologetically for conservative principles and the future of Texas families.

Another major win came from Mayes Middleton, who won the Republican nomination for Texas Attorney General. Middleton has built a reputation as one of the Texas Legislature’s strongest conservative voices championing border security, school choice, protection of unborn children, and the defense of the Second Amendment.

Middleton has consistently emphasized strengthening the family unit and defending Texas values against outside political pressure. As Attorney General, he will continue the aggressive conservative legal strategy established under Paxton while ensuring Texas remains a national leader in protecting families, faith communities, and constitutional freedoms.

Conservative voters also rallied behind Bo French whose campaign focused heavily on protecting the Texas energy industry, fighting federal regulations, and defending the economic backbone that supports countless Texas families. Energy independence remains a critical issue for working families across the state, and French’s support among conservative voters demonstrated strong backing for candidates committed to protecting Texas jobs and affordable energy.

The victory for Bo French represents more than his fight for Texas’ oil and gas industry. French says he will use his office and influence to push conservative, pro-family causes.

Last, but certainly not least, was the commanding victory for Thomas Smith as the

Republican nominee for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This extremely important court is similar to our state Supreme Court. Smith has made it clear that he will be tough on crime. Every time Smith spoke, he put an emphasis on the importance of ensuring people who commit crimes against children stay behind bars. Smith has worked in the Office of the Attorney General under Ken Paxton and has the qualifications and backbone to be a great pro-family judge.

The May 26 runoff results demonstrated the continued influence of grassroots conservative activism in Texas. While establishment figures and national political organizations poured resources into many of these races, voters ultimately sided with candidates who presented themselves as fighters for faith, family, and the conservative principles that have shaped Texas for generations.

With the general election now ahead, conservatives across Texas are hoping these victories will continue building momentum to make Texas the strongest state in America for families, children, faith communities, and future generations.

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
