Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s recent lawsuit against the people and entities behind the project once called the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC City), now being referred to as The Meadow, is both necessary and fundamentally pro-family and pro-legal compliance.

What the Lawsuit Alleges

On December 5, 2025, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a civil lawsuit in Collin County against the East Plano Islamic Center, its affiliated development entity Community Capital Partners LP, and several individuals, alleging what his office calls an illegal land-development and securities scheme tied to the planned 402-acre project.

The lawsuit contends that the developers violated Texas securities laws by selling investment interests tied to the project without proper registration and by failing to verify that investors met the legal requirements to participate in such offerings. The AG’s complaint also alleges funds were misused, including payments to project leaders that contradicted earlier representations.

Paxton is seeking to halt the project’s fundraising, freeze assets, correct misleading statements, and impose civil penalties. The Office of the Attorney General argues that those who break Texas law, whether individuals or powerful institutions, must be held accountable to protect everyday Texans and the integrity of our markets.

Why This Matters to Texas Families

Texas is actively being overrun by Muslims who want Sharia law to be the law of the land in Texas. EPIC City was originally supposed to be a testing ground for Sharia law to operate within our borders. Sharia law and Texas law cannot coexist. Texas is a Christian state that was founded on Christian principles. Texas is also a state that values freedom more than most, which is a huge draw for groups like those behind the development. They want to use our principles against us to allow them to operate.

Context Matters

This lawsuit follows multiple investigations into the planned development this year. Early in 2025, Paxton’s office issued a Civil Investigative Demand as part of an inquiry into possible violations of consumer protection statutes. Governor Greg Abbott also directed state agencies to examine the project for legal compliance. Those investigations have included matters tied to fair housing, civil rights reviews, and state regulatory concerns.

The people behind the EPIC City development have shown little to no interest in following Texas law. Our goal is to keep Texas a place where families can thrive, without the threat of a Muslim takeover. Whether it be violating securities law or anything else the Attorney General stumbles upon, this development is not pro-Texas and definitely not pro-family and will almost certainly violate Texas law again.

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
