This week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton intensified his defense of Senate Bill 10 (SB 10) the law requiring donated Ten Commandments displays in every public school classroom, by filing new lawsuits against Round Rock ISD and Leander ISD. Although several districts have secured temporary injunctions due to ongoing federal litigation, Round Rock and Leander are not among them. Despite that, both districts refused to post the donated displays, prompting Paxton’s latest legal action.

Paxton accused the districts of disregarding the will of Texas voters and reminded school officials they have no authority to suspend state law simply because they feel uncertain or are pressured by radical activist groups. His lawsuit reiterates a core principle of governance: state law applies statewide, not selectively, and public school officials do not get to decide which statutes they will follow. The action also restores clarity for parents who expect consistent compliance. SB 10 remains in effect for nearly all Texas districts, and these schools have no legal basis for refusing to follow it.

As the courts continue sorting through challenges to SB 10, the reality remains unchanged: the Ten Commandments reflect basic standards of conduct; respect, responsibility, and honesty, that have shaped our civilization. Allowing donated displays in classrooms does not require religious observance; it simply places a longstanding moral reference point before students, reinforcing values that strengthen schools and communities.

Once again, Ken Paxton has stepped in to defend Texas families. Texas Family Project will continue to monitor developments on SB 10 and champion a Texas where the Ten Commandments hang in every classroom.

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
