Paxton Defends Children From Radical Gender Procedures

Texas families scored another major victory as the legal and political fight over so-called “gender transition” procedures for minors continues to shift in favor of protecting children.

A new report revealed a Texas hospital system is now preparing to launch a youth “detransition clinic” for young people seeking help after undergoing medical “treatment” tied to gender ideology. The development comes after years of legal action and investigations led by Ken Paxton and the State of Texas.  

The proposed clinic represents a stunning admission from the medical establishment: many children who were rushed into life-altering hormone treatments and procedures are now seeking medical and psychological help to reverse course. For years, conservative Texans warned that children were being pushed toward dangerous experimentation without fully understanding the lifelong consequences. Now, even hospitals are being forced to acknowledge the fallout.  

This shift did not happen by accident. Attorney General Ken Paxton aggressively pursued enforcement actions against doctors accused of illegally providing gender transition drugs to minors after Texas passed protections for children several years ago. In 2025, Paxton announced legal victories that stopped several Texas doctors from continuing to prescribe cross-sex hormones to minors while litigation moved forward. His office alleged physicians used deceptive billing practices and false diagnoses to conceal prohibited treatments.

The rise of detransition cases nationwide further proves why these safeguards are necessary. Reports across the country show growing numbers of young people regretting irreversible procedures they underwent as minors. Some detransitioners have already filed lawsuits against medical providers for malpractice and lack of informed consent. In early 2026, one detransitioner won a multimillion-dollar malpractice verdict after a jury found medical professionals failed to follow acceptable standards of care.  

Meanwhile, the legal foundation supporting Texas law has continued to strengthen. Courts have increasingly sided with states seeking to restrict gender transition procedures for minors, and Texas lawmakers have maintained strong protections banning such treatments for children.  

For years, activists claimed there would never be widespread regret from these procedures. Now hospitals are preparing entire clinics dedicated to helping young people recover from the physical and emotional damage caused by radical gender medicine. Texans were right to be skeptical from the beginning.
