Texans just sent a clear message: parents, not government bureaucrats or woke activists, have the final say in raising their children.

On Election Day, voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 15, the Parental Rights Amendment. This amendment is simple but powerful and reinforces the truth that parents, not the government, are the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives.

What Proposition 15 Does

Prop 15 puts what we’ve always known in black and white text for everyone:

“A parent has the responsibility to nurture and protect their child and the corresponding fundamental right to exercise care, custody, and control of their child, including the right to make decisions concerning the child’s upbringing.”

That means parents, not school administrators, not government agencies, and certainly not gender ideology activists, have the constitutional right to direct their child’s education, medical care, and moral upbringing.

It may seem like overkill to have this implemented but in today’s world, it is very necessary.

We need basic truths in law so our children can be protected!

What This Means for Texas Families

The passage of Prop 15 changes everything. It sends a loud, unmistakable message to Austin:

  • The government does not own our kids.

  • Bureaucrats do not get to override parents.

  • The radical left does not get to indoctrinate Texas children without consequences.

From here on out, every lawmaker, agency, and school board in Texas must operate under this new constitutional protection for parents. Families are the backbone of Texas, and parental rights must be protected if we are to be the best state for families.

The Fight Isn’t Over

Prop 15 is a major victory, but it’s not the end of the fight, it’s the beginning of a new phase. The enemies of the family aren’t giving up; they’ll try to undermine this amendment in the courts, in the classroom, and in culture.

That’s why we need every Texas parent to stay engaged:

  • Show up to school board meetings.

  • Know what’s in your kids’ school curriculum.

  • Push back against woke policies in your community.

  • Support lawmakers who defend family values.

We can now use the passage of this proposition to defend our arguments and protect parental rights.

We thank every voter who stood up for family, faith, and freedom. Because of you, the Lone Star State became stronger on Election Day.

Texas stands for parents. Texas stands for families. Texas stands for truth.

TFP is on the front lines for Texas families, as the Left continues waging their anti-family war, and will not back down.
